As President, Randy Dodson oversees all aspects of Fairways Media. Dodson began his career in the publishing industry as an advertising sales representative for a daily newspaper chain in Boston, Massachusetts, and then in Provo, Utah.
After four years of successful advertising sales experience, Dodson jumped into advertising sales and marketing management within the magazine industry with his move to Utah Business Magazine in 1992.
At the same time he become an independent marketing representative for Professional Sports Publications, publishers of NBA Hoop magazine and Brigham Young University’s Cougar Illustrated.
In 1993, Dodson was instrumental in the inception and publishing of Fairways magazine, FranklinCovey’s Priorities magazine and HomeCourt magazine, the former publication of the Utah Jazz.
Dodson has also overseen the creation and successful publishing of golf tournament programs for Johnny Miller’s Champions Challenge, Huntsman Cancer Institute’s Golf Classic, the historic Provo Open and the Utah Section PGA’s Utah Open.
Dodson’s management responsibilities of Fairways Media include all aspects of editorial, design, marketing, advertising sales, accounting and new business development. In 2001, Fairways Media also began serving an impressive list of clients as a full-service advertising and marketing agency.
Having graduated in 1987, Dodson holds a degree in advertising sales and administration from BYU. He and his wife Tonia have three children and he enjoys traveling, golf, baseball and basketball.
